Definition

As-Built Drawings (or Record Drawings) are the final, revised blueprints submitted by a contractor upon project completion. They reflect exactly how the project was actually built, incorporating all on-site modifications, change orders, and deviations from the original design.

Practical Example

During the installation of plumbing lines, the contractor discovers a structural beam obstructing the original pipe path and reroutes the piping. The final As-Built Drawings will document this new, actual pipe route, which is crucial for the facility management team for future maintenance.

Application in Superwise

The Superwise Document Management System allows teams to version control drawings securely. Contractors can upload redlined markups directly from the site which are routed to consultants for approval, ensuring the final As-Built repository is accurate, centralized, and cloud-accessible.
