Definition

Good For Construction (GFC) drawings are the ultimate, error-free blueprints stamped and released by the principal architect and structural consultant. Unlike preliminary or tender drawings, GFC drawings contain the exact, finalized dimensions, reinforcement details, and elevations required for physical construction to begin.

Practical Example

A site engineer receives a set of plumbing drawings. Before allowing the plumber to lay pipes in the floor slab, the engineer checks the title block to ensure the drawing is stamped "GFC". If it is marked "Tender Purpose Only", the engineer halts work, as using unapproved drawings can lead to catastrophic rework.

Application in Superwise

Version control of GFC drawings is a massive operational challenge. Superwise solves this via digital Document Management. When the consultant uploads Rev-02 of a GFC drawing, Superwise automatically archives Rev-01 and sends a push notification to all site engineers' tablets, ensuring no one builds from outdated plans.
