Definition

A Layout Plan (or Master Plan) is a macroscopic architectural drawing illustrating the two-dimensional arrangement of the entire project site. It maps out the exact position and orientation of building footprints, internal access roads, parking zones, underground utilities, and landscaped open spaces relative to the plot boundaries.

Practical Example

Before selling plots in a new gated community, the developer must submit the Layout Plan to the urban development authority. The authority verifies that the Layout Plan leaves the legally mandated 10% Open Space Ratio (OSR) for parks and ensures the internal roads are wide enough for fire engines.

Application in Superwise

The Layout Plan defines the foundational Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in Superwise. Project Planners upload the layout and utilize it to define the project hierarchy—breaking the master site down into Phase 1, Phase 2, individual Towers, and Basements—allowing costs and progress to be tracked at granular geolocations.
