Definition

The Bar Bending Schedule (BBS) is one of the most critical documents in Indian civil engineering. It provides a comprehensive, tabular list of reinforcement steel bars required for a structural element (like a slab or column), including the bar mark, diameter, shape code, cutting length, number of pieces, and total weight.

Practical Example

Before casting a roof slab, the steel fixers read the BBS prepared by the structural engineer. The BBS states that they need 150 pieces of 12mm TMT bars, each cut to 4.5 meters with a 90-degree hook at both ends. This prevents steel wastage on site.

Application in Superwise

Superwise integrates directly with the reinforcement workflow. Site engineers can upload the BBS against a specific task. When verifying the contractor's RA Bill, the system directly cross-checks the claimed steel tonnage against the approved BBS, automatically flagging any discrepancies or over-billing attempts.
