Definition

Brickwork, colloquially known on North Indian sites as "Chinai," is the fundamental masonry process of laying individual bricks in a regular, interlocking pattern, bound together by a cement-sand mortar paste to form load-bearing or partition walls.

Practical Example

A masonry subcontractor is hired to perform "Half-brick Chinai" (4.5-inch partition walls) for the interior rooms of an office building. The contractor will bill the client based on the total square meters of wall constructed, deducting the area of any doors and windows left empty.

Application in Superwise

Superwise breaks down Brickwork into trackable WBS tasks. Site supervisors log their daily Chinai progress via the mobile app, reporting the square meters completed. This instantly updates the Gantt chart and alerts the procurement team when the sand and cement inventory will drop below the minimum required threshold for the next week of brickwork.
