A Change Order (or Variation Order) is a legally binding amendment to a construction contract. It is issued when there is an addition, deletion, or modification to the originally agreed-upon scope of work, which consequently alters the contract price or the completion schedule.
Midway through building a commercial complex, the client decides to upgrade the lobby flooring from standard tiles to imported marble. A Change Order is drafted detailing the extra material cost, the additional labor required for cutting marble, and extending the project deadline by two weeks. Both parties sign it before work proceeds.
Superwise digitally manages the Change Order workflow. If a site measurement exceeds the baseline BOQ, the system flags a variation. Project Managers can then generate a formal Change Order request that routes through approval hierarchies, seamlessly integrating the revised costs into the financial baseline and future RA Bills.
