Hardcore Soling (or simply Soling) is a critical sub-base preparation technique widely used in India. Before pouring the ground floor slab (PCC) or laying a pavement, a uniform layer of large, angular stones (usually 150mm to 230mm in size) is tightly packed over the compacted earth to distribute loads and provide a solid, non-yielding base.
Before casting the concrete floor for a warehouse, the contractor lays a 200mm thick layer of stone soling over the excavated soil. The stones are hand-packed tightly, the gaps are filled with smaller stone dust (murrum), and a heavy mechanical roller compacts it to ensure the warehouse floor won't crack under forklift traffic.
Superwise tracks Soling as a distinct payable BOQ item, often measured in square meters or cubic meters. When the earthwork contractor submits an RA Bill for soling, Superwise cross-references the measurements against the digital DPR and foundation layout bounds, ensuring accurate payment for the sub-base work.
