Definition

Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) has revolutionized high-volume construction. Instead of mixing cement, sand, and aggregate manually on the ground at the site—which leads to poor quality control and space constraints—RMC is manufactured in a highly controlled, off-site computerized batching plant according to an exact Design Mix. It is then delivered to the site in an un-hardened, plastic state via a Transit Mixer truck.

Practical Example

A contractor is building an urban skyscraper with zero space to store sand or cement on the ground floor. For pouring the 5th-floor slab, they order 100 cubic meters of M40 Grade RMC. A convoy of transit mixers arrives exactly on time, and a concrete boom pump shoots the factory-perfect concrete straight up to the 5th floor without storing a single raw material onsite.

Application in Superwise

Procuring RMC involves strict logistical tracking. In Superwise, engineers log the arrival time, dispatch time, and pour time of every single Transit Mixer. This ensures that the RMC is poured well within its Initial Setting Time window. The accounting module automatically reconciles the volumes logged by the QA team against the RMC supplier’s monthly invoice.
