Definition

Wall Putty is a crucial interior finishing material. It is a brilliant white, cementitious or acrylic-based fine powder mixed with water. Plastered brick walls, no matter how skilled the mason, have tiny pores and a rough sand texture. Before applying expensive decorative paint, painters apply two thin coats of Wall Putty, sand it down flawlessly, and apply a primer. This creates a glass-smooth canvas for the final paint.

Practical Example

A contractor is finishing the interior of a luxury villa. They apply a base coat of white cement Wall Putty over the raw plaster. After it dries, laborers spend two days meticulously sanding the putty down with fine sandpaper. Without this putty layer, the highly expensive imported satin paint would look terribly bumpy and absorb unevenly into the raw plaster.

Application in Superwise

Finishing tasks consume massive labor hours. In Superwise’s WBS scheduling, "Putty Application" is tracked as an independent operational task separated from "Primer & Paint 1st Coat". When the painting Thekedar bills for square meters of internal finishing, Superwise splits the billing sequence, paying them partially when the putty is approved by QA, and the balance only when the final paint is accepted.
